Heating sapphires is a very common and absolutely accepted practice. Nonetheless, it’s always nice to work with an unheated sapphire which was already a desired colour when it came out of the ground. You won’t find them too often!

This one is cut in a rectangular shape with cut corners, also known as emerald cut (because emeralds are often cut in this fashion). It weighs 0.70ct and measures 6x4mm.

I like putting my gems into full bezels firstly for aesthetic reasons: I like the contemporary look. But bezels are also safer for gemstones, because they won’t snag like claws. Snagged claws can bend back, exposing a stone. So a full bezel suits me better. No need to check and/or re-tip claws!

The 18k gold band is 2.5mm wide, and bevelled on the inside similar to a comfort-fit. If worn as an engagement ring, a wedding band could go next to it.
If worn to celebrate a birthday or other milestone, or simply as a self-empowering ring, it’s good to go on its own!
