*Caveat on using the term “recycled gold”:

While I am very careful to source my precious metals only from SCS® certified suppliers (SCS® stands for Supply Chain Sustainability; they are the global leader in the field of sustainability standards and third-party certification). Most of my precious metals suppliers are also members of the Responsible Jewellery Council. However, I want to point out that ‘recycling gold' is not what is commonly understood by the term.

True recycling avoids things ending up in landfills. Gold, of course, wouldn’t.

Instead, gold is simply melted, refined and repurposed.

Although SCS® certified refineries must maintain auditable records of their suppliers, there are loopholes globally which make it very easy for gold from unregulated and/or illegal sources to enter their supply chain.

This makes even 'certified recycled' gold untraceable.

It’s rare to find a handsome wedding band for a man, but I am going to wager this one makes the cut – don’t you think?

The luscious texture folds over and tucks underneath just like linen sheets. This gives the ring a soft touch, while its width expresses strength. A sophisticated, one-of-a-kind handcrafted wedding band for a man, or empowering ring for any person of course!

The Process:

To make these rings, I begin with a mixture of local beeswax and Portuguese pine resin.

The ancient Japanese technique works that wax mixture by hand and at room temperature. It takes time and strength, with a meditative quality.
Through repeated folding and stretching, many layers are formed, like when making a croissant or taffy.
In this way, I create many many waxes, inspired by the movement of water, driftwood, and the texture of calligraphy brushes – and the wax itself.
Can you imagine how divine the studio smells? Yum!

After a creation session, I pick the very best wax rings to cast in ethical 18k Fairmined ECO gold.
Because each one is cast in lost-wax method, each ring exists only once. A unique treasure!

The Material:

The FLOW Series is cast in ethically mined and 3rd-party traced gold – there is only one mine in the world, the Oro Puno Mine in Peru, which meets the stringent environmental and social standards to carry the label “Fairmined Ecological Gold.” This means:

• Support for the social and economic development of small-scale artisanal mining communities

• Safe working conditions & no link to conflict zones

• No use of toxic chemicals such as mercury or cyanide

With the purchase of this ring, you improve lives.
