This is another of my favs from the new batch in my FLOW Series: like a contented hug, an exhale. I love it.
This one is also wider at the top, and more narrow below, which will make it very comfortable.
You really get the sense of fabric folding. So snuggly!
Every ring in the Series is unique and different, this one is quite sweet.
The Process:
These rings are created in an ancient Japanese technique. I melt beeswax from my local beekeeper with Portuguese pine resin, then cool the wax enough to handle.
Through repeated folding and stretching, many layers are formed, like when making a croissant, or taffy! … except the process is a lot slower. I would say even meditative.
In this way, I create many many waxes, inspired by the movement of water, driftwood, and the texture of calligraphy brushes – and the flowing wax itself.
After a creation session, I pick the very best ones to cast in luscious and ethical 18k Fairmined ECO gold.
Because each one is cast in lost-wax method, each ring exists only once. A treasure!
