*Caveat on using the term “recycled gold”:

While I am very careful to source my precious metals only from SCS® certified suppliers (SCS® stands for Supply Chain Sustainability; they are the global leader in the field of sustainability standards and third-party certification). Most of my precious metals suppliers are also members of the Responsible Jewellery Council. However, I want to point out that ‘recycling gold' is not what is commonly understood by the term.

True recycling avoids things ending up in landfills. Gold, of course, wouldn’t.

Instead, gold is simply melted, refined and repurposed.

Although SCS® certified refineries must maintain auditable records of their suppliers, there are loopholes globally which make it very easy for gold from unregulated and/or illegal sources to enter their supply chain.

This makes even 'certified recycled' gold untraceable.

Celebration Ring No. 08 in 18k Palladium White Gold with Green Sapphire, Size 7.5

Green sapphire and 18k palladium white gold is such an unusual combo – I love it. The moody sheen of the palladium white gold beautifully complements the earth green of the sapphire.

For context, this ring is shown here next to a 5mm wide 18k yellow gold wedding band.

I call this Series Celebration because it stands to celebrate all kinds of milestones – including engagements. As such, a matching band can comfortably fit under the gemstone to snuggle up against this ring. Or wear it alone as a birthstone or self-empowerment ring!

The sapphire weighs 0.72ct and measures 6x4mm.  The cut is called ’emerald-cut’ because that gemstone – by far more fragile – is often cut in that way. You are safer with a sapphire!
Origin of the sapphire in this ring is Australia.

My preference in creating solitaires is to use full bezels, especially for engagement rings, because it means there is no snagging of claws on clothing, and no need to check and/or re-tip claws, which always fail over time. The 2.5mm comfort-fit band lends stability – visually and structurally. The combo of flat band and full bezel lends the ring a distinct contemporary European flavour.
