Ooooh, I love an emerald-cut sapphire! This one is 0.38ct and measures 5x3mm. I chose it specifically for this smaller size band – the proportions are perfect, don’t you think?

Built altogether more delicately, appropriate to the overall proportions, the comfort-fit 18k yellow gold band is more narrow at 1.5mm.

It is shown here next to a straightforward 3mm wide wedding band – not necessary, but if this is your jam, 100%.

I love a full bezel, meaning the gemstone is securely held from all sides, especially for engagement rings, as they simply withstand everyday wear better than claw settings, which can snag on clothing and weaken or break, causing the stone to go flying. With a full bezel, there is no need to check and/or re-tip claws.

Of course this could also be a self-empowering ring, or a birthstone stacker – what a fun way to make a family ring: simply get one for each member of your family!
