Size 7.3
This natural Blue Zircon is set in 18k yellow gold, atop a size “7.3” sterling silver ring. Why such a strange size? Because these rings don’t always follow convention! The size is basically just a little smaller than seven and a half. As with all of my rings in this series, this one began as one feet of sterling silver, which I forged before letting it find its way around the finger.
Zircon is valued for its sparkly brightness and Caribbean hue.
Fun Fact I learned from my gemologist friends at Pierres de Charme: a zircon found in Australia is considered to be the oldest known mineral on the planet with an age of 4.4 billion years.
