One-of-a-Kind #186 || Onefooter Ring in 18k Yellow Gold, with blue Sapphire, Size 8.25
Every single ring in this series starts out the same way – as a one foot length of 18k yellow gold. Then I start forging it to move the metal. After that, the metal finds its own way around the finger, depending on where and how the shape of the wire changes along its length, creating nooks and crannies where the metal wants to bend and change direction. I often liken it to raising children – you can try to shape them, but in the end, they find their own way.
Some of the rings turn out in a way which lends itself for placing a stone into them. Most often, I set Canadian diamonds into the gold rings, but every now and then, a sapphire. This one is 4mm in diameter and weighs 0.44ct. The ring is size 8.25
