I guess I like pear-shaped/flame-shaped gems, and I like spinel in all its colour variations. Two of my favourite newer things to use in these rings. This one is a big ring – a Twofooter – , and a big stone – almost a carat.
Spinel is tough and stable, which makes it an ideal choice for rings. Since August 2016, spinel is also an official birthstone for the month of August, alongside peridot!
This sterling silver Twofooter ring is a size 9, and the 0.91ct pear purple spinel is set in 18k yellow gold.
