Reflection and Thanks

Share on:

I am sitting in my studio, listening to the  CBC Music App – yes, the Classical Holiday channel. I am quietly working away, setting a rough diamond into a wedding ring. I always make a point at this time of year to make sure I can avoid the hussle and bussle, and the often not very festive moods of those rushing around for last minute gifts and groceries. As the world outside speeds by, I sit back for a moment, enjoying a snack of Persimmons and green tea, and reflect.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me throughout this year. Your purchases have made it possible for me to continue to create and follow my passion of moving metal. Your positive feedback has given me the courage and grown my confidence to forge on ahead with such a silly occupation as being a self-employed artist!

In particular, I want to thank what I affectionately call ‘my galleries’: all the wonderful, and hand-picked galleries that carry my work. I appreciate all of you, particularly the two galleries that have been selling my work the longest (over a decade): Fireworks Gallery in Halifax, and Galerie Noel Gyuomarc’H in Montreal. Both owners are a true inspiration for me: Fireworks’ Judy Anderson because of her big believe in the arts, her committment to local artists, and her vision (see my previous post, here), and Noel Guyomarc’H because he continues to carry the most exciting collection of contemporary jewellery in Canada. These visionary owners are both also great mentors to me, always willing to answer questions.

It is only due my lovely customers, and to these very special galleries, that I can follow my passion and sit in my studio today to further create. Hope you all find some peace and quiet moments over the next week. Happy Holidays!
