I want to share with you a lovely story: the romantic ideas of a young father for his wife on their eleventh wedding anniversary. This couple got married on the bride’s birthday, so every year, the anniversary and her birthday are on the same day. This year, it was her fourtieth. So the husband wanted to do something special.
After initial exchanges on telephone and via e-mail, this client came to visit me in the studio, and we talked about what he had in mind. We tossed ideas back and forth. How could he commemorate this fourtieth birthday, which also was their 11th wedding anniversary? He wanted something special for the love of his life, the mother of their three young children.
He had liked the idea of the Onefooter ring, the idea of working with one foot of length. Using that as a starting point, we created a bangle that was made from 40 inches of silver, to commemorate her 40th birthday, and a companion bangle, set with eleven blue topaz around the perimeter, like stars in a galaxy, to recognize the eleven years of their marriage thus far.
I didn’t get a photo of the ecstatically happy wife wearing both, but here is a picture of the companion bangle with the stones:
Oh to see the joy on both their faces: hers because she had received such a thoughtful gift, and his because he had made her so happy!
Nice story…and great piece of work.
