I was blessed with the visit of my brother with his family from Germany. On their round trip of Nova Scotia, my niece collected shells which she wanted to present to her best friends as gifts from her trip. This little one was by my side a lot: she loved watching me cook (and helped a lot!), and when we got the the studio, she was glued to my side.
She had envisioned stringing the shells, so we went to drill holes into them.
I was surprised how thick and hard these shells were!
“Look, we’ve finally drilled through the first one!”
Too bad we didn’t get a photo of the finished product; the shells were so large that they looked almost like breastplates and a person her size. Very nice. I am sure my niece’s friends must have been delighted!
