It is time I began introducing you to my new work!
First, the very berry Canadian “Maple” rings: these are real maple leafs pressed in silver. Each one is one-of-a-kind, just like every person and every Canadian visit is unique in itself. I think this will bring especially for the visitor to Canada a special significance.
The funniest thing about this is that, although I have orders, I cannot actually make more of these rings now, as I need fresh maple leaves to make more, and there aren’t any on the trees right now!!
Secondly, the very whimsical “Seuss” Series; “Seuss” , as in the doctor, and also a word-game with the German word ‘suess’, which means cute or sweet:

This series was very well received at the ACTS show. I am excited to launch it in stores soon!
Again, as in so much of my work, each one is one-of-a-kind. The ones you see here are similar to, but not exactly like, the next ones I will make. This is exciting and frightening at once: will my creative juices be flowing the same way next time I make more? I am anxious to get started: probably next week. I hope to have these in galleries by early March …
After all the time spent preparing for the show (partly in getting print material ready, which I will show off on this very blog soon, and then in galleries!), and then, in the last couple of days, doing my books for Year-End, I am very excited to get back into the studio!
Ok, I will leave it at that for today. There is more, but it would feel frivolous to reveal it all at once!
I like the maple leaf ring conundrum… that they’re available only when in season! Deeper connection to the origins of the piece—the leaves themselves—their transition from green to brown a testament to impermanence… and caught mid-stream, in silver… like a photograph.

Dorothée – I love your new pieces – all of them!!! The maple rings are so organic and beautiful and the Seuss rings whimsical and fun, how shall I resist!
All my best,
