This behind-the-scenes short was my first try at getting this video of a gorgeous diamond ring I made (if I do say so myself):

In the background, you can hear my ultrasonic cleaner going.

This packaging, though!
The most sustainable packaging I could find,
from The Tiny Box Company from the UK.
Made from 99% recycled box board (made from recovered materials which have then been processed to become a 'new' material), their boxes are sustainably sourced (meaning that in the procurement of the material, social, ethical and environmental performance factors have been considered), recyclable, and biodegradable (this product is capable of being decomposed by bacteria or other living organisms).

What fun I had hand-forging this 18k yellow gold ring with a gorgeous natural Canadian diamond: 0.80ct , F colour, SI1 clarity and EXEXEX (triple Excellent) cut . It came with a GIA certificate and complimentary appraisal.
Fun, fun fun!

For the Opening of our Kyudo Program, I was asked to offer a Reisha - two ceremonial opening shots.

Kyudo - the way of the bow - is traditional Japanese archery as a form of ‘meditation in action’. You might guess that from the slowness of the movements on this video.

This contemplative practice is a big part of my life. It helps me ground myself in the busy life of an entrepreneur.

I’m no specialist, though, and this offering was by no means perfect. I also simply handed someone (who had never witnessed this before) my phone an asked them to just roll the tape. It ended up being a bit jumpy. Regardless, I decided to share it.

In this school of kyudo, the Heki Ryu Bishu Chikurin Ha school, we do not have ranks or competitions or hierarchies. We all
Continously learn, we serve each other, and we are all students of Shibata Sensei XXI 🙏🏻
