Continuing my search for suitable galleries, I travelled some more in the three days between the Harmony Arts Festival weekends. First, I went to Victoria. Because I had so little time (and because I found an awesome web-fare), I decided to take a seaplane. Instead of having to go to and from outlying ferry docks in each city, this convenient service goes directly from downtown Vancouver to downtown Victoria. Plus, let’s face it: it’s tons of fun, and quite exciting. You’ll have to excuse the quality of these images, they are taken with my phone (battery dead in the camera).
We actually flew right past the Festival site. If you look closely, you can see the white tents near the beach.
It’s quite different from flying in a big plane!
The views were very beautiful.
From up here, I finally understood about all the islands surrounding Vancouver Island. I thought about my friend (and brilliant jeweller) Eve Llyndorah, who lives on an island somewhere out here.
Ok, I attempted to post the epic little video of the seaplane landing in Victoria … not working right now (it’s too big a file), but I’ll try to post it soon.
And then I’ll tell you about the lovely gallery I found in Victoria, and the rest of my three-day trip, in my next post.
Hi Dorothée!
How wonderful to fly in a seaplane and be on the west coast…I was just there, and had my first seaplane experience too! What synchronicity :-)
I hope you are well and happy!
Rami
