This wrap ring is now made with Fairmined™ 930 Sterling Silver.*
Some people like to make a bigger statement: the TwoFooter starts as two feet of gold or sterling silver wire, which is first forged in various directions, then wound repeatedly into a continuous intertwining loop, wrapping around the finger many times without beginning or end. Each ring is unique and different; no two are the same.
This ring generally has 9 loops, but that can vary, depending on how much the metal was forged, and the size of the ring. Average width is 1 ½ – 2 cm (ca. ½” – 3/4″). For a more compact/masc/masculine style, I wind the length of precious metal more on the spot; for a more elongated/fem/feminine version, it is wound more along the finger.
*Fairmined™ is a standard for ethical and sustainable silver and gold that assures strict environmental and social standards. See Above and Beyond “Recycled” Silver and Gold. I had made these in recycled sterling silver, and while Umicore’s recycled silver standard is very high, it is not necessarily considered the most ethical anymore because conflict silver can make its way into the supply chain. As I learn more, I continue the journey to implement ethically-sourced metals.
