All jewellery is handmade and shipped from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and therefore is exempt from tariffs for USA customers under CUSMA, the free-trade agreement. I always ship with a certificate of origin for customs.

*Caveat on using the term “recycled gold”:

While I am very careful to source my precious metals only from SCS® certified suppliers (SCS® stands for Supply Chain Sustainability; they are the global leader in the field of sustainability standards and third-party certification). Most of my precious metals suppliers are also members of the Responsible Jewellery Council. However, I want to point out that ‘recycling gold' is not what is commonly understood by the term.

True recycling avoids things ending up in landfills. Gold, of course, wouldn’t.

Instead, gold is simply melted, refined and repurposed.

Although SCS® certified refineries must maintain auditable records of their suppliers, there are loopholes globally which make it very easy for gold from unregulated and/or illegal sources to enter their supply chain.

This makes even 'certified recycled' gold untraceable.

The Summer Show is here This Weekend!

Share on:

Good morning!
It is Thursday, and I have spent many late hours in the studio getting ready for the Show of Hands, the Nova Scotia Designer Crafts Council’s 35th annual Summer Craft Show. Tomorrow morning, Friday July 20th, starting at 10AM, I will be content to be in my booth downtown at Victoria Park (corner of Spring Garden Road and South Park Streets), surrounded by 34 wonderful fellow artisans with their brilliant offerings of what they make with their hands here in our Atlantic region.

Angela Grace Jewelry will have her headline-making work there this weekend!

This will include Angela Grace, who has made big splashes with her Fox Rings in the past few months, Allyson Simmie with her haunting impressions of the landscape, and some new vendors, like Swainstreet Woodworking with her whimsical boards and wonderful wood care products, and even Pete Luckett with the wines form his own local vinyard!

These wonderful, locally made balms will protect your cutting boards into eternity!

It’s been exciting getting ready, spending lots of time in the studio. And wouldn’t you know it: I fell in love a little when I finally had finished, and tried on this cuff in the “série Script” series last night!

Oh dear: I have fallen in love with my own work! I love the curves on this piece…

The series was based on the beautifully calligraphic lines of the varied scripts in India, which I encountered on my pilgrimage through that amazing country. I will likely stop making these now, so I guess I am growing a little attached.

you can almost see a hint of sanskrit lettering in the random pattern of this one-of-a-kind silver cuff

Well, if you had been thinking about getting one of these, this is the time. Come on down this weekend! Friday 10am – 8pm, Saturday 10am – 6pm, and Sunday 10am – 5pm.

I do look forward to the camaraderie amongst the vendors as much as I enjoy meeting old and new clients. I am also excited to show off some new things I have been working on … you’ll have to come down to see. I look forward to seeing you!

    • Thanks, Cindy!
I really felt it this weekend: appreciation for what I create. I think us makers forget that sometimes: the fact that the things we make actually impact others. It’s been a great weekend for hearing positive feedback, and I can’t wait to blog about it tomorrow :)
