Sometimes people confuse ‘blue zircon’ with ‘cubic zirconia’ – not at al the same thing! Blue zircon is a natural gem, whereas cubic zirconia is synthetic. Zircon comes in other colours, as well, but the blue version reminds me of sailing in the Caribbean.
Zircon has a high refractive index – its crystal structure creates one of the liveliest displays found in any coloured gem. This thing’s got life!
This Onefooter ring in sterling silver is set with a 4mm Blue Zircon in 18k yellow gold; It is a size 7, and is on the more narrow side of my rings in this style – it does not take up a tremendous amount of ‘real estate’ on the finger.
